The Stubbed diary on a phone

What is Stubbed?

Stubbed is a theatre diary app. You log the plays, musicals, operas, dance and comedy you see, rate each one in half stars and add a line or two on what you thought. Over time it becomes a record of every night out at the theatre: what you saw, where, when and how much you loved it.

It is built for theatre regulars: people who see a few shows a year and people who see a few a week. Logging takes seconds on your phone, right after the curtain call. Start with a photo from the night and Stubbed fills in the date, finds the theatre you were at and suggests the show. Group shows into trips, like a week of theatre on holiday or a festival run, then share a good-looking card of any show or trip to Instagram.

Stubbed works for any theatre, anywhere. If a show or venue isn’t listed yet, you add it as you log. It is in private beta while we get the basics right, so sign-ups aren’t open yet. Join the waitlist to hear when they are.

What you can do

  • Log every show

Venue, date and a line or two on what you thought.

A week in New York or a season at the Barbican, together.

  • Share them

See what your friends are seeing, and what is trending.

  • Bring your history

Paste ticket emails or add old photos, and Stubbed drafts the entries for you to check.

  • Public or private

Entries start public so they’re easy to share. Make any one private with a tap.

Questions

Can I sign up for Stubbed now?

Not yet. Stubbed is in private beta and isn’t open for sign-ups. Join the waitlist with your email and we’ll send you one email when it opens. No newsletter, and you can unsubscribe any time.

How much does Stubbed cost?

Nothing during the private beta. Logging your shows and getting your own data out will always be free.

Which theatres and shows does it cover?

Any theatre, anywhere, from the biggest houses to fringe venues and village halls. You can log musicals, plays, opera, dance, comedy and anything else on a stage. If a show or venue isn’t listed yet, you add it in a few seconds while you log.

Is there an iPhone app?

Stubbed works in your phone’s browser today and is designed for logging one-handed on the way out of the theatre. A native iPhone app is planned.

Can I add shows I saw before joining?

Yes. Paste or upload your ticket confirmation emails, or add photos from past nights out, and Stubbed reads the show, venue and date and suggests entries. Nothing is saved until you have checked it.

Are my entries public?

Entries start public so they are easy to share, and you can make any entry private with one tap. Photos have their location data removed before they are uploaded.

Can I export my data?

Your diary is yours. You’ll be able to download all of it as a CSV file at any time.
